EXCURSIONS & HIKES IN BARDONECCHIA
There are numerous opportunities for walking and trekking on the mountains of Bardonecchia with the use of the chairlift system.
In Bardonecchia and the surrounding areas there is an endless choice for mountain walkers: paths, mule tracks, military roads, from the valley to the top of the mountains, from 1300 metres to 3500 metres.
The wide range of routes ensures that there is something for everyone – from those wanting a pleasant stroll to the most expert mountain walkers.
Sunlit footpaths and paths through the woods lead to some of the most famous peaks of Bardonecchia and the Upper Val di Susa: the Guglia Rossa, the Val Fredda, the Tre Croci, the Sommeiller, Thabor and the peaks of Pierre Menue with plenty of opportunity to stop along the way in Alpine refuges and the many mountain pastures.
For those who like walking in a group there are also organized walking trips for all ages and tastes with expert guides.
HORSE RIDING
For horse-riders there are many paths through the woods and across the meadows, of differing lengths and difficulties, but always with wonderful views.
In the area of Pian del Colle there is a horse-riding centre, Silverado equitrek, which organizes horse-rides in the Bardonecchia area. With Silverado equitrek horse-riders have the opportunity to discover hidden corners of our mountains.
With Silverado equitrek it is possible, even on day trips, to learn about many aspects of keeping a horse: riding, saddles, logistics, diet, topography, terrain (history and culture) and farriery to ensure that both you and your horse are safe.
As you ride in the company of professional guides you will see some spectacular scenery along the numerous signposted routes such as the Route of the Guglia Rossa, the Route of the Two Colli, the Mule track Pass and the routes in the Val Fredda.
